The professional problem

Testing is treated as "clicking around". Learners cannot derive test cases from requirements, write a reproducible defect or test an API.

Why this Sprint exists

Test one application the way a QA team does: understand requirements, design test cases, run manual and API tests, log defects well and automate a small regression suite.

The five days

Your five days, day by day

Days 1–4 are 90-minute live sessions. Day 5 is an extended 2–3 hour Capability Showcase. Open each day to see what you do and what you leave with.

Day 1Requirements to test conditions90 min
  • Read requirements/user stories; ask clarifying questions
  • Equivalence partitions, boundary values, negative tests

You leave the day with: Test conditions + test plan outline

Day 2Test cases and execution90 min
  • Write and execute UI test cases
  • Defect reports: steps, expected vs actual, severity, evidence

You leave the day with: Executed test cases + defect log

Day 3API testing90 min
  • HTTP methods, status codes, auth, JSON
  • Postman requests and assertions

You leave the day with: API test collection v1

Day 4Regression and automation90 min
  • Data-driven tests; environments; Newman run
  • Risk-based prioritisation
  • Human review and revision

You leave the day with: Regression suite v2 + test summary report

Day 5Capability Showcase2–3 hr

Changed-case challenge: Reviewer ships a new build with a changed requirement and hidden defects

  • Present test approach and results
  • Learner updates tests, finds defects and reports

You leave the day with: Final proof pack, submitted after the changed-case challenge

Tools

Tools you work with

  • Demo web app + public API
  • Jira / Trello or sheet for defects
  • Postman (collections, tests, Newman)
  • Playwright intro (optional)

Tool names describe what is used in the Sprint. No vendor endorsement, certification or licence is implied.

Work you can defend

Test plan + defects + API regression suite

This is the work you explain, question and adapt in the Day 5 Capability Showcase.

Your proof pack

  1. 01Test plan
  2. 02Test cases
  3. 03Defect reports
  4. 04Postman collection
  5. 05Run reports
  6. 06Test summary
  7. 07Day 5 findings

What a reviewer checks

  • Tests trace to requirements
  • Defects reproducible and well-written
  • API assertions meaningful
  • Regression catches changed behaviour

Day 5 · Capability Showcase

Your work has to survive a changed case.

On Day 5 you present the work, explain key decisions, identify limitations and respond when part of the case changes. The final proof pack is submitted after that challenge.

  1. Present

Walk the reviewer through the work and the decisions behind it.

  2. Question

Answer challenges on evidence, assumptions and risk.

  3. Adapt

Reviewer ships a new build with a changed requirement and hidden defects

  4. Defend

Submit the final proof pack and explain what changed and why.

Questions worth asking.

Is a Capability Sprint just a short course?

No. It is a focused live capability studio built around doing one bounded kind of professional work, receiving feedback, revising it and demonstrating what you can do.

Will this make me a QA engineer?

No. The Sprint builds one bounded capability: deliver a test plan, executed test cases, quality defect reports and an automated API regression collection for one app. Not ISTQB preparation or full test-automation framework engineering. SkillsNCR does not promise a role, job or placement.

Do I need prior experience?

No readiness check is needed. Prerequisite: None for the manual track; comfort with JSON helpful for API work.

What will I produce?

Test plan, Test cases, Defect reports, Postman collection, Run reports, Test summary, Day 5 findings.

What does a Sprint cost?

₹2,000 for the complete five-day Sprint.

How long is it?

Days 1–4 are 90-minute live sessions. Day 5 is an extended 2–3 hour Capability Showcase.

When is the next cohort?

This Sprint is opening soon. It opens once enough learners join the waitlist — join it on WhatsApp and you will hear when a cohort is confirmed.

Can I join only one Sprint?

Yes. Each Sprint is designed to provide standalone value.

Does this guarantee a job or placement?

No. WorkReady is paid professional capability development, not a job or placement service. SkillsNCR does not guarantee employment, placement, salary or interview outcomes.
