The professional problem

Exam-style cloud knowledge without the ability to deploy something, lock it down, see what it costs or recover when it breaks.

Why this Sprint exists

Deploy, secure, monitor and cost-control one small service on a major cloud — understanding the building blocks rather than clicking through a tutorial.

The five days

Your five days, day by day

Days 1–4 are 90-minute live sessions. Day 5 is an extended 2–3 hour Capability Showcase. Open each day to see what you do and what you leave with.

Day 1Cloud model and account safety90 min
  • Regions, shared responsibility, IaaS/PaaS/serverless
  • Identity: root/admin vs least-privilege user; MFA
  • Budget alerts and cost awareness

You leave the day with: Secured account + architecture sketch

Day 2Network and compute90 min
  • VPC/VNet, subnets, security groups/firewalls in practice
  • Launch a VM or container/serverless service

You leave the day with: Running service reachable only as intended

Day 3Storage, data and deployment90 min
  • Object storage, managed database basics
  • Deploy the sample app; environment variables and secrets

You leave the day with: Deployed app + config record

Day 4Observe, cost and recover90 min
  • Logs, metrics, one alert
  • Cost estimate vs actual; right-sizing
  • Backup/snapshot and teardown script or checklist
  • Human review and revision

You leave the day with: Ops runbook v2

Day 5Capability Showcase2–3 hr

Changed-case challenge: Reviewer injects a failure (open port, failed instance, spending spike, leaked key scenario)

  • Walk through architecture, access and cost
  • Learner diagnoses and remediates live

You leave the day with: Final proof pack, submitted after the changed-case challenge

Tools

Tools you work with

  • AWS / Azure / GCP console + CLI
  • Sample web app
  • Cloud monitoring
  • Pricing calculator

Tool names describe what is used in the Sprint. No vendor endorsement, certification or licence is implied.

Work you can defend

Deployed service + IAM/monitoring/cost runbook

This is the work you explain, question and adapt in the Day 5 Capability Showcase.

Your proof pack

  1. 01Architecture diagram
  2. 02IAM/access record
  3. 03Deployment evidence
  4. 04Monitoring/alert screenshot
  5. 05Cost estimate
  6. 06Runbook
  7. 07Incident response from Day 5
  8. 08Teardown confirmation

What a reviewer checks

  • No wide-open access or root usage for daily work
  • Service works and is observable
  • Cost understood and controlled
  • Injected issue handled safely

Day 5 · Capability Showcase

Your work has to survive a changed case.

On Day 5 you present the work, explain key decisions, identify limitations and respond when part of the case changes. The final proof pack is submitted after that challenge.

  1. Present

Walk the reviewer through the work and the decisions behind it.

  2. Question

Answer challenges on evidence, assumptions and risk.

  3. Adapt

Reviewer injects a failure (open port, failed instance, spending spike, leaked key scenario)

  4. Defend

Submit the final proof pack and explain what changed and why.

Questions worth asking.

Is a Capability Sprint just a short course?

No. It is a focused live capability studio built around doing one bounded kind of professional work, receiving feedback, revising it and demonstrating what you can do.

Will this make me a cloud engineer?

No. The Sprint builds one bounded capability: deploy one small web service with least-privilege access, monitoring, a budget alert and a documented teardown/recovery path. Not official AWS/Azure/GCP exam preparation or certification. SkillsNCR does not promise a role, job or placement.

Do I need prior experience?

Fit check: basic networking/computer concepts, comfort with a terminal. Learner chooses AWS, Azure or Google Cloud (cohort may standardise on one); free-tier account with billing alerts set before Day 1. Fit check — a short (10–15 min) readiness task before payment confirmation. Learners who are not ready are routed to a feeder Sprint, not admitted with hidden homework.

What will I produce?

Architecture diagram, IAM/access record, Deployment evidence, Monitoring/alert screenshot, Cost estimate, Runbook, Incident response from Day 5, Teardown confirmation.

What does a Sprint cost?

₹2,000 for the complete five-day Sprint.

How long is it?

Days 1–4 are 90-minute live sessions. Day 5 is an extended 2–3 hour Capability Showcase.

When is the next cohort?

This Sprint is opening soon. It opens once enough learners join the waitlist — join it on WhatsApp and you will hear when a cohort is confirmed.

Can I join only one Sprint?

Yes. Each Sprint is designed to provide standalone value.

Does this guarantee a job or placement?

No. WorkReady is paid professional capability development, not a job or placement service. SkillsNCR does not guarantee employment, placement, salary or interview outcomes.
